The Sensex and Nifty 50 declined in afternoon trade. This followed conflicting statements and actions from the US and Iran regarding the peace deal. At 11:47 am, the Sensex was down 0.50%, while the Nifty 50 was down 0.27% at the same time.
Broader markets sent mixed signals. At 11:48 am, the Nifty Midcap 100 was up 0.20%, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 was up 0.14% at the same time. Sector-wise, the Nifty IT outperformed while the Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty Financial Services underperformed.
