RVNL Q1 FY 2026-27 Results: Net Profit Rises 18.5% To Rs 159 Crore, EBITDA Margin Jumps Sharply

RVNL Q1 FY 2026-27 results: Net profit rose 18.5% to Rs 159.36 crore YoY, while EBITDA margin more than tripled from a year earlier. The company also disclosed updates on a long-pending receivable dispute and the deregistration of an overseas subsidiary during the quarter.
RVNL Q1 FY 2026-27 Results: State-run rail infrastructure developer Rail Vikas Nigam Limited reported its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, with the board approving the unaudited standalone and consolidated numbers at its meeting on Tuesday, August 11.
Consolidated net profit after tax rose 18% year-on-year to Rs 159.36 crore, compared with Rs 134.53 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, driven by healthy order book growth. On a sequential basis, however, profit fell 14.8% from Rs 187.07 crore reported in the March quarter.
Revenue from operations increased 10.6% year-on-year to Rs 4,321.23 crore, compared with Rs 3,908.77 crore in the year-ago period. Sequentially, revenue was down 35.5% from Rs 6,695.91 crore in the preceding quarter, while total expenses rose nearly 7% year-on-year to Rs 4,245 crore.
EBITDA came in sharply higher at Rs 185.4 crore, against Rs 56 crore in the year-ago quarter, a rise of over 230%. EBITDA margin correspondingly expanded by 285 basis points to 4.27% from 1.42% a year earlier.
Business Performance
The company continues to operate under a single reportable segment covering the development of rail infrastructure. Statutory auditors Gandhi Minocha & Co issued limited review reports with an unmodified conclusion for the quarter, though this carried an emphasis of matter relating to an outstanding receivable from Krishnapatnam Railway Company Limited.
The receivable from Krishnapatnam Railway Company Limited stood at Rs 1,091.91 crore as on June 30, 2026, including Rs 889.95 crore towards interest. The method of interest calculation on this amount was changed from compound to simple with effect from October 1, 2024, and the company said discussions with KRCL are continuing over the period prior to September 30, 2024.
Separately, RVNL has deregistered its wholly owned subsidiary, RVNL Infra South Africa, with effect from June 30, 2026.
RVNL Share Price
RVNL shares surged 0.3% to hit an intraday high of Rs 231.33, against the previous close of Rs 230.68, after trading lower earlier in Tuesday's session. The stock has delivered over 694% returns in the last five years and more than 83% over three years, but has declined 32.6% over the past one year and 36% on a year-to-date basis in 2026. Over the past month, the stock is down 0.8%, and has lost 0.26% over the last five trading sessions.
The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 400.70 on December 29, 2025, and a 52-week low of Rs 220.16 on July 28, 2026. RVNL's market capitalisation stood at Rs 47,763 crore as of Tuesday, August 10, 2026.
