Indian markets are set to begin Thursday's session after the benchmarks ended lower for a second straight day. The Nifty remained below 24,500, while investors also tracked crude prices, the rupee and inflation data from India and the US.

The Sensex ended 188 points lower at 77,966.35. The Nifty 50 finished at 24,435.95, down 36 points. The Nifty Midcap 100 rose 0.28%, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 index declined 0.18%.
Over the past two sessions, the Sensex has lost nearly 600 points, while the Nifty has declined about 0.60%. The market's total capitalisation also fell by about ₹2 lakh crore over the two sessions, to around ₹492 lakh crore.
Higher crude prices and uncertainty around the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz remained key concerns for investors.

Nifty 50 Technical View
- Support: 24,300-24,270
- Resistance: 24,570-24,600
A sustained move above 24,600 could take the Nifty 50 Index towards 24,750 and then 24,900. On the downside, 24,300-24,270 remains the immediate support zone.
What To Watch In Thursday's Session?
Inflation data, crude prices and developments around the Strait of Hormuz will remain on the radar. India’s CPI inflation rose to 4.45% in July from 4.38% in June. However, the reading remained within the RBI's 2-6% tolerance band.
Traders will also track GIFT Nifty and the latest global market moves before Thursday's opening bell.
