Nifty IPO Index Jumps 34% In FY27; July-August Fundraising Crosses Rs 45,000 Crore

India's IPO market rebounded sharply in July-August after a slow first half, with the Nifty IPO index rallying 34% in FY27 and mainboard fundraising crossing Rs 45,000 crore, led by strong gains in Dhoot Transmission, Xtranet Technologies, Sudeep Pharma, Milky Mist Dairy Food and MV Electrosystems.
India’s primary market has picked up pace sharply after a subdued first half of 2026, with both IPO fundraising and listing activity gaining momentum in July and August. The Nifty IPO Index has also rallied more than 34% in FY27 so far, signalling stronger demand for recently listed stocks.
The first six months of 2026 saw only 28 mainboard IPOs raise around Rs 20,000 crore. Activity picked up significantly in July and August, with more than 40 IPOs hitting the market and mainboard fundraising crossing Rs 45,000 crore. August alone saw nearly 18 listings.
The improvement in the primary market has also been reflected in the performance of listed IPO stocks. The Nifty IPO Index gained more than 5% in August and is up over 34% in FY27 so far. The index tracks stocks after they complete 30 days of listing and follows them for up to two years.
Of the 127 stocks currently part of the index, 71 are trading above their issue prices, while 56 are in negative territory.
