Pre-Market, 3 November 2026
Sensex and Nifty 50 may maintain their positive momentum, with investors watching US midterm elections.

Markets may maintain their positive momentum after a strong rally in the previous session. Global cues, US midterm elections and crude oil prices will remain key triggers.

Equity markets may look forward to further extending their gains in today’s session after the Sensex and Nifty 50 ended higher for the third consecutive session on Monday, 2 November 2026.

Yesterday, the BSE Sensex gained 1,233.25 points, or 1.66%, to close at 75,692.78. The Nifty 50 advanced 387.70 points to settle at 23,440.80. The broader market also ended higher. The Nifty MidCap 100 rose 1.19%, while the Nifty SmallCap 100 gained 0.71%.

Buying in heavyweight stocks, particularly Reliance Industries, along with a decline in crude oil prices, supported the benchmarks. Hopes of progress in US-Iran talks also helped improve investor sentiment. The market may carry this positive momentum today.

US and European markets closed mixed in the previous trading session, with most of the major global indices, particularly US markets, in the red. On the other hand, European markets closed in the positive (see table):

At 6:46 am today, the GIFT Nifty was up 0.65%, hinting at a possible positive start for frontline indices.

Oil and Gas stocks could remain on the market's radar after the sector emerged as the biggest gainer in the previous session. The Nifty Oil & Gas gained 5.95% yesterday.

Metal stocks may also see continued interest. Tata Steel and JSW Steel were among the leading Nifty 50 gainers in the last trading session. The Nifty Metal index also recorded strong gains of 3.21% in the previous session.

The three-session winning run has improved the near-term outlook for Indian equities. However, the market will need fresh buying support to extend the rally. Traders will track crude oil prices, global market movements and developments from the US midterm elections.
