The following stocks were the top five gainers and losers on the Nifty 50 index today:

Crude prices stayed volatile on Tuesday as continued oil exports from the Middle East and a planned release from G7 emergency reserves helped ease supply fears. Traders remained cautious, however, amid Houthi attacks on Saudi targets and the risk to Gulf oil supplies.

At around 15:38, Brent crude December futures stood at $98.62 per barrel. At the same time, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude November futures stood at $87.76 per barrel.

Gold and silver traded higher on the Multi-Commodity Exchange of India (MCX). At 15:39, MCX gold December 2026 futures stood at ₹1,49,700 per 10 grams, up 0.26%. At the same time, MCX silver December 2026 futures stood at ₹2,26,148 per kg, up 0.03%.

Here are some other headlines for the day:

  • Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said on Tuesday that India could see its first indigenous civilian aircraft within the next two years through a joint venture. He also said the ministry is engaging with airlines and oil marketing companies (OMCs) over high jet fuel prices amid the West Asia crisis.

  • Festive demand lifted India’s two-wheeler market to a September record, while electric vehicle retail sales reached an all-time monthly high, according to data from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA).

Markets are likely to extend their recovery in the upcoming sessions. However, the near-term trend could remain volatile. Investors are likely to watch crude oil prices, global cues, foreign selling and developments in the West Asia conflict.
