10 BSE 500 Stocks Tumble Up To 44% In A Month: PB Fintech, IFCI Among Top Losers As 83 Stocks Fall Over 10%
10 BSE 500 stocks face sharp selling as market weakness persists.

The BSE Sensex and BSE 500 index fell around 4.5% in a month, while 83 BSE 500 stocks lost over 10%; PB Fintech plunged 44%, IFCI dropped 35% and New India Assurance fell 30%.

Indian equities have remained under pressure over the past month, with the BSE Sensex and BSE 500 index each falling around 4.5%. The decline has been much steeper for several individual stocks. As many as 83 BSE 500 stocks have lost more than 10% in a month, while the worst-performing stocks have fallen between 16% and 44%.

PB Fintech leads the decline, followed by IFCI and New India Assurance. Latest prices on 7 October show most of these stocks were trading lower around midday, although Bikaji Foods International, Afcons Infrastructure and Fortis Healthcare were in the green.

PB Fintech Limited shares fell 44% in a month, from ₹1,853 to ₹1,035. At 12:39 pm IST on 7 October, the stock traded at ₹1,030.40, down 0.43%. Proposed changes to insurance distribution rules, including commission limits, have weighed on sentiment towards insurance-platform companies.

IFCI shares declined 35% over the month, from ₹101 to ₹66. The stock was at ₹64.69, down 1.25%, at 12:37 pm IST on 7 October. The stock has faced pressure amid developments around the NSE IPO, given IFCI's indirect exposure to NSE through Stock Holding Corporation.

New India Assurance shares dropped 30% in a month, from ₹230 to ₹161. At 12:37 pm IST on 7 October, the stock was trading at ₹159.78, down 0.58%. The company has historically struggled in October, according to the seasonality data. The stock has delivered negative returns in 7 of the past 9 years during the month. Its average decline in October stands at 5.03%, while the maximum decline recorded was 14.98% in 2024.

Tejas Networks fell 22% over the month, from ₹614 to ₹476. The stock traded at ₹469.70, down 1.29%, at 12:29 pm IST on 7 October. Its decline comes amid continued pressure following a period of weakness in telecom equipment shares.

Aditya Birla Real Estate lost 21% in a month, falling from ₹1,372 to ₹1,080. At 12:29 pm IST on 7 October, it was trading at ₹1,056.70, down 1.98%. The decline has kept the real estate stock among the notable BSE 500 laggards over the period.

Godrej Properties Limited shares declined 19% over the month, from ₹1,990 to ₹1,605. The stock was trading at ₹1,581.40, down 1.78%, at 12:40 pm IST on 7 October.

India Cements fell 19% in a month, from ₹363 to ₹295. At 12:41 pm IST on 7 October, the stock stood at ₹295.05, down 0.068%.

Brigade Enterprises declined 18% over the month, from ₹696 to ₹569. The stock traded at ₹557.20, down 2.09%, at 12:38 pm IST on 7 October, extending its weakness in the latest session.

Bikaji Foods shares fell 18% in a month, from ₹584 to ₹481. However, the stock was trading higher on 7 October. At 12:42 pm IST, it stood at ₹486.30, up 1.08%. The company has previously flagged pressure from higher raw-material costs while maintaining its FY27 sales and volume outlook.

Afcons Infrastructure lost 17% over the month, falling from ₹293 to ₹242. At 12:35 pm IST on 7 October, the stock was at ₹244.44, up 0.95%.
