Hero Motors made its debut on stock exchanges today, i.e., 23 September 2026. The initial public offering (IPO) of Hero Motors was a mainboard issue and its shares were listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The shares were listed at a discount of 2% compared with the IPO issue price of ₹84 per share in the upper price band. On the BSE and NSE, the shares opened at ₹82 apiece.

The Hero Motors IPO carried a price band of ₹79-84 per share. It was open for subscription from 16 September to 18 September. The IPO’s size was pegged at ₹1,000 crore and had a lot size of 178 shares.

The issue comprised a fresh issue of ₹600 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of ₹400 crore. The company plans to utilise the proceeds to repay borrowings, fund capital expenditure and inorganic growth through unidentified acquisitions.

The Hero Motors IPO received an overall subscription of 6.6 times. The qualified institutional buyer (QIB) portion was subscribed 1.49 times, while the non-institutional investor (NII) category was booked 9.86 times. The retail portion was subscribed 8.23 times.

ICICI Securities, DAM Capital Advisors and JM Financial were the book-running managers of the IPO, while KFin Technologies Ltd was the issue registrar.

Established in 1998, Hero Motors Limited is an automotive technology company focused on designing, developing and manufacturing powertrain solutions for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) across the US, Europe, India and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) markets.

Its product portfolio spans electric and non-electric applications across two-wheelers, e-bikes, passenger and commercial vehicles, off-road vehicles and electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
