Gold ETF Inflows Fall 55% in July 2026: AMFI Data Shows Slowdown After June Highs

Gold ETFs received net inflows of ₹1,559 crore last month, lower by nearly 55% from ₹3,443 crore in June.
Inflows into gold exchange-traded funds slowed sharply in July 2026, according to data released by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI).
Gold ETFs received net inflows of ₹1,559 crore in July, down nearly 55% from ₹3,443 crore in June.
Despite the slowdown, this marks the second straight month of positive inflows into gold ETFs, following net outflows of ₹725 crore in May. Investors had booked profits in gold ETFs that month before flows turned positive again in June and July.
The moderation in July comes even as gold prices have stayed firm through the month, touching multi-month highs on the back of central bank buying and shifting expectations around US interest rates. The slower pace of inflows suggests some investors may have turned cautious after gold's sharp run-up, choosing to hold off on fresh allocations rather than chase prices higher.
Equity funds also see lower inflows
The slowdown wasn't limited to gold. Actively managed equity mutual funds recorded net inflows of ₹24,697.39 crore in July, down from ₹28,973.41 crore in June.
Overall, the mutual fund industry recorded net inflows of ₹2.35 lakh crore in July, a sharp turnaround from net outflows of ₹52,948.78 crore in June.
